When I started looking for a pressure washer, I fully expected to buy one with an internal combustion engine. However, a friend of mine had a Karcher that he was happy with and let me borrow it. I was skeptical of using an electic device in a wet environment, but it worked well and I was sold. The features on this Karcher tick off all my requirements and I'm quite pleased with the purchase.
There were some delivery issues, however. The pressure washer I kept was the fourth one delivered to me. That's right, the fourth. The reason is that there was one thing or another wrong with the first three. One leaked from a hose connection point between the pump and the wand, one had badly mangled threads where the supply hose connected, and one leaked from within the unit. Judging from the condition of the delivery boxes, I believe the fault lies not with the Karcher manufacturing process but on the logistics and delivery end. Through it all, Karcher was excellent. The process for reporting the failure and getting another unit delivered was easy and they never changed me an additional dime for delivering the replacement units. While it was disappointing to experience these failures, and wait a couple of extra weeks to be able to use the pressure washer, Karcher's customer service was absolutely top notch!

Works well for its class, but durability is an issue
I have had two of these for almost four years now. I have used them intermittently for car and lawnmower clean-up, as well as washing down concrete slabs in my garage, etc.. Nothing too demanding. I don't use them often, but they have both worked reasonably well for me. They are not very powerful, so cleaning bigger things or having to remove more caked-on clay soil, for instance, takes a bit longer. They came with a reasonable assortment of tips, and I have bought more since I purchased the machines.What I am disappointed about is the longevity of the lance/trigger assembly. It started leaking a bit last year, but I thought it was due to worn-out O rings. When I tried to use one machine today, I had water pouring out of the trigger itself to the point that there was so much pressure loss that the spray no longer removed mold from a deck I was trying to clean. When I swapped to the second one, the same thing happened.So, I took the lance apart to see what was going on under the cover plate. It turns out that both plastic pieces that accommodate the trigger mechanism were cracked and just gushed out when the machine was turned on, pressurizing them (see pictures). Both machines are kept in a garage with no chance of freezing. I have to assume that this is due to the aging of the material itself. I do not believe this should be happening after only four years of light use and always being stored inside without exposure to the elements.
